Superbon wants rematch

Thai star Superbon

Superbon Singha Mawynn has his sights set firmly on reclaiming the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title after reeling off another knockout at the weekend.

The Thai superstar knocked out No.5 ranked contender Tayfun Ozcan in the second round at ONE Fight Night 11 on Saturday, setting his home crowd alight at Lumpinee.

The highlight-reel finish also earned Superbon a US$50,000 performance bonus, courtesy of ONE chairman Chatri Sityodtong.

In his post-fight interview, the 32-year-old thanked his compatriots in the crowd for their support and declared that a rematch with former conqueror Chingiz Allazov was on his mind.

"All the people here give me full power. So, thank you to everyone here and everyone at home," he said.

"I want the rematch [with Chingiz Allazov]. Everyone here, do you want the rematch?" Superbon asked the audience.

"Everyone in Thailand, we want to see the rematch."

Allazov, for his part, has his first title defence locked in against another former Superbon foe in Armenian striker Marat Grigorian at ONE Fight Night 13 in August.

During his title reign, Superbon also defended his featherweight kickboxing strap against Grigorian in March 2022 before relinquishing the title to Allazov in a shocking TKO loss earlier this year.

Asked whether he wanted the Allazov-Grigorian winner next or "Chinga" specifically, Superbon didn't discriminate. "I want both. I want the belt back, and I want the rematch with Chingiz Allazov," he said.
