Playoff football is not far away, with just three weeks left in the 2024 regular season. Several teams have already clinched a postseason berth, and others need a win to keep their playoff dreams alive. Who are the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl in 2025?
Let’s break down the three of the top Super Bowl favorites with the NFL season winding down.
Buffalo Bills (+400)
With three weeks left in the 2024 regular season, the Buffalo Bills have a favorable schedule. They have two more games vs. the Patriots and one vs. the Jets. New England and New York are both under .500 in 2024. The Bills were expected to be in a slight rebuilding year this season after parting ways with key players. However, MVP candidate Josh Allen has kept the team competitive and Buffalo is just as dominant as ever. Over the last month, Allen has carried the team and the Bills are undoubtedly one of the best offenses heading into the playoffs. Buffalo is still fighting to potentially have the #1 seed in the AFC.
Detroit Lions (+475)
Tied with the Kansas City Chiefs at (+475) to win the Super Bowl are the 12-2 Lions. Last season, Detroit made the NFC championship game and lost in a close battle to the 49ers. In 2024, the Lions have been ravaged by injuries, especially on defense. More than 10+ defensive players are currently on the IR or their season is done for the Lions due to injury. Despite those setbacks, the team still has one of the more potent offenses in the NFL. Strong offensive play will have to carry the Lions in the playoffs if they want any chance of making the Super Bowl this season. Detroit is coming off a 48-42 loss in Week 15 to the Rams. They are 12-2 and are on the road in Week 16 to face the Bears.
Philadelphia Eagles (+800)
The next lowest odds after the Lions is the Philadelphia Eagles at (+800) to win the Super Bowl. Philadelphia are winners of 10 straight and they have a ton of momentum at this point in the season. Detroit is technically the #1 seed in the NFC, but they and the Eagles are 12-2. The addition of Saquon Barkley has been massive for the Eagles in 2024. Philadelphia is a run-first team that can still be very successful through the air. For the final three games of the 2024 season, the Eagles have divisional matchups. They are on the road in Week 16 to face the Commanders. Philly is back at home in weeks 17 and 18 to face the Cowboys and Giants. There’s a real chase that the Eagles earn the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
