Sam Curran becomes most expensive buy in IPL auction history, Mumbai shell out Rs 17.5 crore for Aussie Cameron Green

NEW DELHI: England all-rounder Sam Curran raked in the moolah as he became the biggest buy ever at the Indian Premier League auction on Friday. The 24-year-old Curran, who was Player of the Tournament in 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia was bought by Punjab Kings for a mind-boggling Rs 18.5 crore.

In 2021, South Africa's Chris Morris became IPL auction's biggest buy when he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 16.25 crore. In the new record, Curran is now the most expensive buy in auction history.
