MUMBAI: Former first-class opener Sunil More was on Tuesday named as the interim chief selector by the Mumbai Cricket Association for the rest of the 2022-23 season.
More was named as the interim chief selector after Salil Ankola, who was the chairman of the senior selection committee, was appointed as a national selector by the BCCI on January 8.
The 53-year-old More played 25 first-class games for Mumbai in the 90s, in which he scored 1503 runs@44.20, with a highest score of 184.
More was already a part of the selection panel which was led by Ankola. The other selectors in the committee are Gulam Parkar, Jitu Thackery and Prasad Desai.
"It's a proud moment for me to be named as the chief selector. I will look to fulfil the expectations," said More.
