Sunderland named as one of the best areas to own an electric car in the UK

A new study has revealed that Sunderland is one of the best areas in the UK to own an electric car.

The study by car user-ship experts CarGuide.co.uk, analysed the number of electric car charging points on ZapMap and ONS data to establish which area in the UK with a population of more than 100,000, has the highest number of charging points per 100,000 population.

And the data found that Wearside ranks highly in terms of the number of charging points per 100,000 people, at 57.2 - landing the city by the sea in a respectable 8th place.
