Sunderland have confirmed the departure of goalkeeping coach David Preece as part of a backroom shakeup - as revealed last week by ChronicleLive.
Preece has left Wearside along with first team coach Phil Jevons with the duo brought in by former boss Lee Johnson exiting as following a reshuffle by new head coach Alex Neil, who took over in February.
Sunderland confirmed Preece's departure in a statement, saying: 'Sunderland AFC can confirm that David Preece has left the club with immediate effect.

'A former academy player, Preece returned to the Stadium of Light in August 2021 as goalkeeping coach and worked alongside Lee Johnson and Alex Neil during his time at the club.
'Preece played his part during a successful 2021-22 campaign, as SAFC earned promotion to the Sky Bet Championship via a play-off final victory at Wembley Stadium in May.
'All at SAFC thank David for his contribution and wish him well for the future.'
The club has yet to officially confirm that Jevons has left.
But ChronicleLive understands that the club has already decided to promote from within to fill both vacancies, with the vastly experienced Mark Prudhoe stepping up from his role as academy goalkeeping coach to take over from Preece.
And Michael Proctor has been promoted from his role with the U23 side to work with the first team and replace Jevons.
