A 10-year-old girl who dreamed of being an artist before she was killed at Robb Elementary School was remembered at a funeral service Sunday.
Alithia Ramirez was among the 19 students and two teachers killed in the May 24 massacre. Her funeral was at First Baptist Church in Uvalde.
Alithia was described in her obituary as a “smart, talented, reliable, extremely loving young lady” who wanted to attend art school in Paris. She loved to play soccer. In a meeting with Joe Biden, Alithia’s parents said the president asked if he could have one of her pieces to hang in the White House, KENS-TV reported.
“She was very reliable, always wanted to take care of everyone, and was a role model to her siblings,” the obituary reads.
Alithia turned 10 at the end of April. A photo captured her smiling, with her hands behind her back, wearing a “Peace out Single Digits #I’m10” T-shirt and a pink “Birthday Girl” ribbon.
She is survived by her parents and two siblings, as well as extended family.
Funerals for the 21 victims are scheduled through the end of June.
