Viewers of Channel 4's Sunday Brunch today were left bamboozled, when it emerged that a café owner who appeared on the show charges £5 for beans on toast.
Hosts Tim Lovejoy, Miquita Oliver and Simon Rimmer who were stationed in Newquay for the Boardmasters Festival, welcomed co-owner of a London-based eatery, Elliot Kaye, to the show.
The entrepreneur and chef from Norman's Café in Tufnell Park, North London alongside Alex and chef Richie, cooked up a storm for the hosts and celebrity guests live on air this morning.

The Star reports that talking the studio and viewers at home through his menu, Elliot introduced the cafe's signature cheesy beans on toast dish - comprising simply of baked beans on toast with a slice of red Leicester cheese on top. He explained that he wasn't a fan of sourdough, and that you 'can't go wrong with basic white bread' at his eatery.
And while some fans swooned over how appetising the final product appeared, many where taken back by the accompanying price tag for those dining at Norman's - as well as the cost of other dishes on the menu.
"£5 for beans on toast #SundayBrunch," one person penned with a screenshot of the menu she looked up online. Another, replied: "£5 for a bowl of porridge!???" while a third, echoed: "£5 for porridge and jam!!"
A fourth, went on to say: "I can't believe there's a guy on #SundayBrunch showing off his beans and toast and 'basic white bread'."
Someone then echoed the co-owners words when they penned: "'We’ve got a basic menu that includes fry-ups…' 'a fry-up with a tea or coffee included'. So this 'revolutionary café' he’s got is actually just a greasy spoon, only with posh owners? #SundayBrunch."
Another said: "Sausage and brown sauce. Beans on toast. Sponge with icing. What's next, Weetabix? #sundaybrunch."
However, some viewers were in love with the innovative café, with one writing: "Oh yum sprinkle cake and pink custard! I need to go there. #Norman's #SundayBrunch." Another, complemented: "#SundayBrunch should give more airtime to chefs like this."
A third, exclaimed: "@SundayBrunchC4 that’s a cheese beano he’s serving, Scottish delicacy #sundaybrunch."
The eatery is clearly a hit with fans and foodies though as its Instagram page is nearing 50,000, with photos getting over 1,000 likes and a flurry of comments each time.
