Suicide rates for men in their early 50s reach record high in England and Wales

Suicide rates among men in their early 50s across England and Wales have hit a record high, extending a persistent trend of elevated numbers within Generation X, official figures reveal.

A total of 532 suicides were recorded among men aged 50 to 54 in 2025, equating to 28.0 deaths per 100,000 people.
