Sugar Settles Moderately Higher as Brazil Center-South Sugar Output Declines

October NY world sugar #11 (SBV24) Thursday closed up +0.34 (+1.82%), and Oct London ICE white sugar #5 (SWV24) closed up +11.00 (+2.08%).

Sugar prices on Thursday moved moderately higher due to a decline in Brazil's Center-South sugar production.  Unica reported Thursday that Center-South sugar production in the second half of August was down -6.0% y/y to 3.258 MMT.  However, for the 2024/25 season through August, sugar production is up +3.9% y/y to 27.169 MMT.
