Sugar Rallies as Brazil Center-South Sugar Output Declines

October NY world sugar #11 (SBV24) today is up +0.43 (+2.30%), and Oct London ICE white sugar #5 (SWV24) is up +12.90 (+2.44%).

Sugar prices today are moderately higher on a decline in Brazil's Center-South sugar production.  Unica reported today that Center-South sugar production in the second half of August was down -6.0% y/y to 3.258 MMT.  However, for the 2024/25 season through August, sugar production is up +3.9% y/y to 27.169 MMT.
