Sugar Prices Sink as India Rules Out Sugar Export Ban

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK26) today is down -0.32 (-2.14%), and May London ICE white sugar #5 (SWK26) is down -5.70 (-1.31%).

Sugar prices fell to 2.5-week lows today after India ruled out a ban on its sugar exports, which could boost global supplies.  India's Food Secretary said today that the government has no plans to ban sugar exports this year, easing concerns that it could divert more sugar to make ethanol after crude oil supplies were disrupted by the Iran war.
