Sugar Prices Fall on Expectations for a Huge Delivery Against the October Futures Contract

Oct NY world sugar #11 (SBV23) on Monday closed -0.66 (-2.45%), and Dec London white sugar #5 (SWZ23) closed -12.70 (-1.74%).

Sugar prices on Monday tumbled to 1-1/2 week lows on expectations for a huge delivery of sugar supplies against the October sugar futures contract, a sign of abundant supplies.  Open interest in the October NY sugar contract that expires Friday stands at 116,157 lots, well above the 54,501 lots in the same period last year.
