Sugar Prices Climb to 2-Week Highs on Brazil Crop Worries

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK25) Friday closed up +0.26 (+1.45%), and August London ICE white sugar #5 (SWQ25) closed up +9.50 (+1.88%).

Sugar prices on Friday rose to 2-week highs and settled moderately higher.  Dry weather in Brazil may curb sugarcane yields and is boosting prices.  Brazil forecaster Somar Meteorologia said the chances for rain in Brazil's sugar-growing regions look limited into next week.
