Sugar Closes Higher as Brazilian Real Strength Sparks Short Covering

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH24) on Tuesday closed +0.44 (+1.63%), and Dec London white sugar #5 (SWZ23) closed +13.90 (+1.92%).

Sugar prices on Tuesday rallied to 4-week highs and settled moderately higher.  Strength in the Brazilian real (^USDBRL) sparked short covering in sugar futures after the real Tuesday climbed to a 2-week high against the dollar.  The stronger real discourages export selling from Brazil's sugar producers.
