The Sugababes are back in their original formation and fans were delighted today as the girls announced their first UK tour for quite some time, live on ITV's This Morning. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby spoke to the original line up of the Sugababes, which true fans will know is Mutya, Keisha, and Siobhan, about what it’s like being back together again and the main reason why they have reformed.
Speaking about the past, Siobhan said, “There was obviously a lot of scrutiny, we were three awkward teenagers and we didn’t go to stage school or anything like that and we’re still not media trained as you can probably tell, but you’re really hard on yourself and it’s so different this time round, we’re just so much more relaxed.”
Bandmate Keisha added: “We were fighting for the name [Sugababes] and legally we wanted it back. It was really important for us because we came up with it when we were kids, but we stuck together and it’s who we are really and we’re just glad that we’ve got it back… and that’s why everything we do now means so much more.”

And the band, who have had many hits including Freak Like Me and Round Round, were excited to announce a new UK headline tour which includes an appearance here in Bristol on October 16. Mutya said, “We have Glastonbury tomorrow…" Siobhan continued, “And then we’re going on our first UK headline tour for quite a while! The tickets go on sale on 1st July and we are touring in October and November.”
Keisha added: “We are so excited and already brainstorming ideas, and we have an amazing band… look at us now, we’re doing it!” The girls will be in Bristol on October 16 2022 for a show at the SWX on Nelson Street.
The venue sustained significant damage in a fire and reopened this year after more than 150 gigs had to be moved to other locations during its enforced closure. Tickets to the Sugababes UK tour will go on pre-sale from June 29 and on general sale from 10am on July 1.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
