The sudden death of a pupil has rocked a secondary school just a few months after a teacher tragically died after collapsing in the playground.
Harley Whittle, a pupil at St Gabriel's RC High School in Bury, tragically died on Friday. Youngsters at the school, who were left shocked by the death of assistant headteacher Mark Hargreaves back in March, were told about the 'sudden unexpected loss of one of our St Gabriel's family' when they attended school on Monday.
The circumstances surrounding the teenager's death have not been revealed, but a report has been filed to Rochdale Coroner's Office. In a letter to parents on Monday, the school said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden unexpected loss of one of our St Gabriel's family. Some of your children may have been in this student's friendship circle.
