Brian Cox has admitted he felt "a little bit rejected" after his character was written out of Succession "too early".
The 76-year-old actor played Logan Roy in the hit HBO show and was killed off in the third episode of the fourth and final series in an explosive twist.
In the episode, Conor Roy prepared to tie the knot with his fiancée Willa Ferreyra, but before the ceremony could go ahead, the family received devastating news.
Viewers watched on as Logan died after collapsing in the bathroom while onboard a private jet heading to Sweden.
While Brian admitted Logan's death was done in "a pretty brilliant way", he said he "wrongly" took it as a form of rejection.
"I was fine with it ultimately, but I did feel a little bit rejected. You know, I felt a little bit, oh, all the work I've done and finally I'm going to, you know, end up as an ear on a carpet of a plane," he told BBC Two's Amol Rajan.
Brian also revealed how they had managed to keep the dramatic twist a secret, having filmed Logan's funeral scenes more than a year and a half ago.
The actor thought paparazzi were at risk of figuring out the twist and leaking the plot, so decided "on [his] own volition" to make sure he was seen on set.
That meant Brian ended up attending what was his character's funeral.
Hinting at a further twist in the show, Brian said he believes his character could still be alive, despite dying onscreen.
"Well, if you think about it, from Logan's point of view, he has to find out, how are his children going to behave when he dies, what will then happen?
"And the only way to do that is to fake his death and actually, at some distant point he's observing the chaos that is following," he explained.
