Succession has finally revealed the fate of the Roy children and their family business as the show came to an end in a dramatic fashion.
Fans have been watching on in anticipation of discovering who will become Logan Roy's successor, with his children — Kendall, Roman, Shiv and Connor — fighting to replace the billionaire media mogul.
Logan, played by veteran actor Brian Cox, was killed off in the third episode of the fourth and final series in an explosive twist.
While his family gathered for Conor Roy's wedding, viewers watched on as Logan died after collapsing in the bathroom while onboard a private jet heading to Sweden.
The fight was then on to take control of his business empire.
Spoiler alert, in a huge twist during the season finale, none of the Roy siblings won.
In the episode, the family were getting ready to have the final Waystar Royco board vote on the merger with Lukas Matsson's company GoJo.
Shiv Roy took one last turn against her brother Kendall Roy as she destroyed his plans to keep their late father's company and become CEO by voting in favour of GoJo acquiring the business.
Shiv's husband Tom Wambsgans triumphed as he was named as the new chief executive, with cousin Greg Hirsch by his side.
It seems there were clues for the ending all along, but did you spot them?
Poster for the final season
The season four poster had a major clue to how Succession ended as it showed Shiv standing behind Tom.
In the picture, Shiv stood with her arms folded as she seemed to be making a calculated decision.
While she took centre stage, the reflection behind her showed Tom standing in front, hinting that she would help him acquire her family's business.
After watching the finale, fans took to Twitter to share their disbelief at missing the huge clue.
"The shiv poster with tom reflect in her back being the biggest spoiler of the finale," one person wrote.
Another said: "OMG! That poster gave away more than we bargained for!" A third fan pointed out: "…and she is behind Tom in his poster."
Tom stealing Logan's chicken
Back in season two of Succession Tom stole chicken from Logan's plate and started eating it, with fans now realising it was a big hint about how the show would end.
In the scene, Tom walked over to Logan's table as his father-in-law asked if he was okay.
Without saying anything, Tom helped himself to the food as Logan questioned: "What the f**k?"
Tom replied: "Thank you Logan. Thank you for the chicken," before walking away.
Sharing a clip of the scene on Twitter, one fan wrote: "This makes a lot of sense to me now."
Another said: "We knew the ending of Succession the moment Tom ate Logan's chicken. NONE of the other Roy siblings would ever have the balls."
Tom Wambsganss name theory
Rare surnames are hardly ever used on TV shows without intention and it seems as though Tom's was no exception.
The character shares his surname with Bill Wambsganss, the second baseman for the Cleveland Indians in the early 20th century.
The sportsman was almost forgotten in history, before he completed the only unassisted triple play in World Series history.
The use of the Wambsganss for Tom seems to suggest the character was always destined to take out Kendall, Shiv, and Roman to lead the company.
Caroline and Shiv parallels
Lady Caroline Collingwood is the second wife of Logan and mother of Kendall, Roman and Shiv.
Fans have drawn parallels between the two characters, who both stand by their husbands, and believe Shiv was destined to support Tom all along.
"Shiv has finally become her mother. Destined to be the unhappy wife of the powerful ceo. I'm gonna be SICK #SuccessionFinale," one person tweeted.
Another fan added: "Me sat on the couch rn thinking about all the parallels i missed between tom and logan (greg and frank) and how shiv was always going to turn into caroline so it made sense she'd end up reduced to ceo's wife, cursed to repeat the cycle #Succession."
