Stunning new drone footage of Liverpool Anfield Road Stand 'looking fantastic'

A stunning aerial video shot by a YouTube videographer shows the pace at which Liverpool FC's Anfield Road Stand expansion plan is now developing.

Mister Drone UK has been diarising the huge project since construction work got underway, as the Reds increase their stadium's capacity to 61,000. And in episode 78 of his on-going documentary, the popular vlogger talks through the very latest developments that have appeared in the past week.

Shot on the morning of Saturday, April 15, the dramatic footage shows glass windows installed on the rear of the rising stand, alongside red brick columns. The sweeping drone captures a number of rooms that have been created on the second and third floors.

The roof structure now appears to be fully in place and has been partially panelled. A shot from the side of the roof shows how the last few rows of seats in the upper tier will been steeper than the rest of the spectator level. A zig-zagging staircase banks the side of the stand, ready to carry the feet of 6,000 extra supporters.

Mr Drone UK's footage from across the pitch shows how the original Anfield Road Stand roof is still in place. Its removal will be undertaken at the end of the current Premier League season. The rear of the new roof appears to have an outdoor concourse, that would provide stunning views across Liverpool to Lancashire and beyond.

Mr Drone UK said: "I was able to get some nice close shots of the back of it at the end there. Looking from inside the ground those seats are visible now coming down the stand in the middle, which is superb to see. It's looking fantastic."

Episode 79 of the Anfield Road Stand redevelopment is expected to be shot during the middle of next week.
