Stunned jockeys forced to pull up as starting stalls get stuck in void race in Australia

A jockey has described the moment he was confronted by a set of starting stalls in the middle of the track forcing him to snatch up to avoid a serious accident.

Jack HIll was leading the field in an eight-runner race at Werribee in Victoria, Australia, and rounding the turn into the finishing straight.

“As we got to the point of the corner I just looked up and I went ‘Oh s**t’ when I saw the gates and Lachie King said the same and we both grabbed hold at the same time,” he told Racing.com.
