Studiocanal has appointed M-K Kennedy, a former executive at Netflix, as the new head of TV. Kennedy will now serve as the executive managing director of TV series at Studiocanal, reporting directly to CEO Anna Marsh. Her base of operations will be in London.
Prior to joining Studiocanal, Kennedy held the position of VP of production for Europe at Netflix, stationed in Amsterdam. In this role, she was instrumental in establishing production teams for local-language series in countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Nordics. Some notable projects she worked on at Netflix include popular shows like 'Lupin,' 'Berlin,' and 'Machos Alfa,' as well as films like 'Society of the Snow' and 'All Quiet on the Western Front.'
Before her tenure at Netflix, Kennedy had a successful stint at UCP and Universal Television. Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh expressed her enthusiasm about Kennedy's appointment, praising her extensive experience and strategic vision in television production. Marsh also thanked Francoise Guyonnet for her contributions to the company's TV business.
Upon her appointment, Kennedy shared her excitement about joining Studiocanal and the broader Canal+ group during a period of growth and expansion. She expressed eagerness to commence her new role and contribute to the company's continued success.
