Studio flat resembling 'garden shed' up for rent at £1000 per month as landlord described as 'greedy'

Househunters have slammed a studio flat listed on Rightmove for £1,050 a month as 'greedy' - as it 'looks like someone's garden shed.

The wooden-looking hut, which appears to be located behind a property with other flats inside, brazenly boasts a 'premium plus' title, while social media users claimed the listing was 'appalling' and the price tag 'unjust'.

Inside, the stylish yet small property has a fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, widescreen TV and a one-person dining table, despite the listing claiming it would 'suit a couple'.

In another area of the renovated outhouse, new tenants have access to a compact shower cubicle, sink and toilet.

The flat, which appears to be represented by Digs Bristol, also promises 'all-inclusive rent' meaning utilities are included in the price however the advert claims internet would be extra for future tenants.

While the 'high quality development' appears newly built, some angry social media users believe it is an example of the 'crazy' housing market.

Lynn Parfitt, from Bristol, said: "This is terrible. It's up for rent for over £1k a month.

"It actually recommended a couple! It's a flipping shed. The rental market has gone bonkers in Bristol.

"Feel so sorry for young people especially when they are looking to leave home.

"The market is making it impossible for them to live in their own city."

Rani Fernandez said: "Oh my life! I pay a little over £1k a month for a 4 bed. Even that’s steep, this is greedy and unjust.

"The greed of some people! It’s exploitation."

Lesley Gillilan said: "Horrible."

Kerrey Mitchell said: "That is appalling."

Pam Morgan said: "You could buy a two-bed ground floor flat for £20,000 on Hampton road in the early - mid 1990s."

Rightmove and Digs Bristol were contacted for comment.
