Successful students are turning their backs on university after bagging top grades in their A-levels.
Young people at Rainhill Sixth Form were among the thousands of learners across Merseyside celebrating as exam results landed at schools and colleges this morning. Today’s results were the first for students where they were able to sit exams, following two years during the covid-19 pandemic where teacher-based and coursework grades were awarded.
Unlike most of their peers however, some students have chosen to turn their backs on the traditional route of going to university after their A-levels. Sophie Kenny, 18, of Rainhill, bagged an A* A and B in her exams but rather than continue with the textbooks, has her heart set on an apprenticeship to be a solicitor in Leeds.
