Struggling mum-of-two forced to live with no carpets due to baffling housing rule

Struggling families are being forced to live with no carpets due to baffling social housing rules which force tenants to rip up carpets and floorboards when moving out.

Mum-of-two Danielle Spencer lives at home with her two daughters, 17 and 12, as well as her grandson, four, after being driven out her former home after it was destroyed by a fire.

The 41-year-old moved into a house run by Progress Housing Group, which state social housing tenants must rip up carpets and floorboards when they move out, giving new tenants a blank slate.
