Kieran McKenna believes his Ipswich Town side are in a 'strong place' ahead of their League One opening fixture against Bolton Wanderers and was confident about the fitness of a few members of his squad for the maiden game of the campaign.
Wanderers travel to Portman Road to take on the Tractor Boys for the curtain raiser ahead of the new season. Bolton's first team were in pre-season action yesterday for the last time before the big kick-off with a draw against Championship side Huddersfield Town.
Town took the lead in the first half when Danny Ward headed home to put the Championship side ahead. But Wanderers built up a head of steam after the break and deservedly got back on level terms thanks to Sadlier coming off the bench to curl home a sublime strike and ensure the contest ended even with the final act of the encounter.

The Tractor Boys were in pre-season action yesterday too. They drew 1-1 with Championship Millwall at the Den, and close their preparations versus Southend United on Tuesday night at Portman Road.
Town boss McKenna is pleased with where his side is at with under a week to go until the League One opener against Wanderers. He is also optimistic about the fitness of duo Dom Ball and Greg Leigh who both missed the draw against the Lions.
Speaking to iFollow Ipswich, McKenna said: "We look in a strong place. I think everyone is looking forward to getting through this week and getting the ball rolling on Saturday against Bolton.
"There’s a lot to be positive about and look forward to, but we know we have to keep improving. That’s not just this week; we need to keep improving over the next few weeks and months.
"Dominic was just a little knock and he’ll hopefully be training on Monday. Greg had a little bit of illness, but he will also hopefully be back in training on Monday. It was nothing major for either of them."
