A Strictly Come Dancing star has opened up on his health struggles as he shared the results of a “scary” recent checkup.
Iwan Thomas, who appeared on the BBC show back in 2015, told his followers on Wednesday (8 April) that he had initially ignored a letter from the NHS for a bowel screening before they sent a follow-up. “They said ‘do the test, do it’,” he explained.
The former Olympian said that some “abnormalities” were found and he went to the hospital for a colonoscopy where they discovered three growths. “One was big and didn’t look great.”
He then shared what his doctor told him following his biopsy results. “Their words were ‘luckily you came in when you did, this could have been very different.’”
