Will Mellor has 'shut down' a Strictly Come Dancing viewer's accusations that he is being given 'the same dances' every week.
Will, who first shot to TV fame on Hollyoaks in the mid-90s, was made favourite to win the new series of Strictly after his amazing week one jive to Ricky Martin's Livin' La Vida Loca, has had a rather tough few weeks on the BBC show, after being struck down by a nasty virus ahead of his and pro partner Nancy Xu 's week four routine
After he struggled through a rumba to Ed Sheeran hit The Joker and the Queen, Will looked and sounded really out of sorts, as he had to deal with the blow of getting his lowest score so far. Thankfully for Will and Nancy, they bounced back in style at the weekend when their marks went up significantly after a well executed Viennese Waltz to the theme tune from Line of Duty.
Crucially, the couple have yet to fall into the dreaded dance-off and, with bookies having them in the top three in the betting for Strictly winner, they look like being in the ballroom for a while yet. They are set to perform a cha cha cha to Tom Jones & Stereophonics' track Mama Told Me Not Come and, on seeing that, the Twitter user replied: "Will getting ANOTHER Latin dance is absurd. How is he managing to avoid all the traditional ballroom like quickstep, foxtrot and waltz? Surely there are rules about having to cover all main styles?"
As fans called out the post for being 'inaccurate,' Will took to Twitter to reply himself, writing: "We don’t choose the dance style!! Also last wk was Viennese Waltz!!??" Backing him, a fan answered: "Pretty sure u did American smooth 2 a dirty dancing song too," with another adding: "The competition isn’t over yet there’s plenty of time for Will to do more ‘traditional ballroom’
