Shirley Ballas has recalled how her Strictly Come Dancing co-star Anton du Beke once “stole” her underwear and used it to “wipe his forehead”. The 62-year-old, who has been head judge on the BBC dancing competition since 2017, is a guest on The Jonathan Ross Showon Saturday, April 8..
Shirley was speaking to host Jonathan following the end of the Strictly Come Dancing live tour. During the interview, she talks about touring with Anton, who succeeded Bruno Tonioli on the main show in 2021.
"Anton Du Beke was on it this time - that man is so funny,” Shirley tells Jonathan of the tour. “He comes across as the perfect gentleman, but he’s very naughty behind the scenes."

She continues: "He came to my dressing room [and] I had my big girl Marks & Spencer knickers out. The next thing I know, we’re on set and he pulled them out of his top pocket and started to wipe his head with them… Good job they were clean, eh?"
Elsewhere in the interview, Shirley discusses her future on Strictly but refuses to confirm that she will be a part of the 2023 series. "Well… I do believe it’s in the process. Is that the right way to say it? Yes.. Their people are talking to my people."
