Former Strictly Come Dancing favourites Ola Jordan and James Jordan opened up about how their bodies have changed since leaving the BBC ballroom dancing show.
The 39-year old appeared on Loose Women alongside husband of 19 years James to discuss life after welcoming their daughter, who was also in the ITV studio.
The conversation turned to body image after James joked to the panel that the pair had “clearly” let themselves go “quite a lot”.
Host Kaye Adams replied by referencing a frank Instagram post Ola shared with her followers last week, in which she wrote of her dismay at the “mum and dad bod” her and husband James have developed since leaving the hit BBC programme.
Kaye said: “I’m not going to be disingenuous. I did see the Insta post you put up, Ola, of the picture of you. Do you feel you’ve let yourself go?”
Ola, who left Strictly after being eliminated in 2015's 13th series, replied saying they had, adding: “It’s really hard, because I think it’s just accepting what you are now.
“Obviously, I had an amazing body when I was on Strictly. Everyone used to look up to me.
“So, coming to the realisation that it’s not the same and it’s not going to be the same anymore, it’s really hard.”
James added: “We’re not training ten hours a day like we used to,” before Ola replied: “It’s finding time and she’s everything,” referencing their daughter.
James told the Loose Women: “It’s not rocket science, is it? It’s what you eat and if you’re not exercising you’re going to put on weight.
“I always said to Ola, I used to find it very easy because I was training so much all the time, I could eat whatever I wanted.
“And I always said, ‘I don’t understand why people put on weight’ and then I have put on three stone since I stopped Strictly, which is quite a lot.”
Coleen Nolan asked James whether the weight gain bothered him, to which he said: “Yeah it does. I think people look at you differently.”
Ola said: “People say you look great, but I don't feel like that. I don’t feel like I'm in my body. It’s weird.”
Kaye said: “You know how to do it, but it does take effort and you do have to be able to focus on yourself and you’ve now got another focus.”
When Ola took to Instagram to share her candid snap, she captioned the post: “Hi guys I wasn't going to post this picture but I've decided to because I'm horrified and so disappointed with myself and by posting it I'm hoping it will help motivate me to do something about it.
“Our friend took this snap of us yesterday trying to stay cool by the pool but OMG... it was a total shock to say the least! When did we get 'mum and dad bods'?”
She continued: "We know we're not in our best Strictly shape but hey that's what happens when you stop dancing for hours every day and have a baby (I just want to know James’ excuse).
"Stay cool everyone. I think I need to avoid the ice cream for a while! Couples That Eat Together Stay Together."
