Former Strictly Come Dancing star Nicola Adams and girlfriend Ella Baig have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The couple first announced they were expecting a child in February and previously revealed that it took four rounds of IVF to get pregnant.
Sharing their joyous news, the 39-year-old boxer and Baig, 24, uploaded a candid photo of their baby’s feet on Instagram in a joint post on Monday.
They wrote: “We are so excited to announce to the world that @babyadamsadventures has arrived.
“The first moment we laid eyes on you we felt an instant love and the strongest bond. We went to the moon and back to get you and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives watching you grow #babyboy #twomoms #twomums.”
In another photo, Adams was stood lovingly by Baig’s side as she underwent a C-section. In their announcement, the pair also revealed the baby, whose name has yet to be revealed, already has his own Instagram account.
Before their social media post, Adams revealed that Baig had given birth to their son on Saturday.
Sharing her pride and love for Baig, the Olympian said: “We are so excited to have welcomed our son into the world on Saturday morning at around 7am.
“Nothing prepares you for this moment in life but I am so overwhelmed with love and proud of Ella.
She told to Hello: “We can’t wait to start this new chapter with baby Adams.”
In February, the pair announced Baig’s pregnancy after trying for three years in which they used Nicola’s egg and a sperm donor who resembles the blogger.
At the time the couple, who have been together for four years, shared a picture of their baby scan with delighted fans on social media.
In a joint Instagram post, they told followers: “We’re so excited to announce that our family is expanding.
“After what feels like a lifetime, we can finally say we’re going to be parents! We’re so excited to share this magical journey with you all, the ups, the downs everything in between. Welcome to the world little one.”
Previously, Adams shared their fertility journey and revealed Baig had suffered a devastating miscarriage after their first round of IVF treatment before they fell pregnant with their son.
Speaking to Vogue Magazine about their heartbreak, Adams said: “Unbeknownst to us, Ella went through her first rounds of IVF with an underactive thyroid which can dramatically impact the chances of having a healthy pregnancy. I was really upset.
“Of course, we knew that there was a chance of it being unsuccessful, but it’s hard to see those two lines on a pregnancy test and feel elated before having that ripped from you just a few weeks later.
“I was also more upset for Ella as she was the one going through the process physically. You don’t really know what to say or do – you just have to be supportive.”
