Upcoming Strictly Come Dancing star Matt Goss - of iconic pop dup Bros - has announced he would love to duet with Adele.
The 53-year-old ‘80s icon thinks he has the pipes to compete with 34-year-old Bond theme singer Adele to create a power ballad duet.
Matt enjoyed top 10 success earlier this year with the release of his fifth solo studio album, The Beautiful Unknown, and has a disco infused new single titled Are You Ready.
He will soon be on British screens as a contestant on series 20 of Strictly Come Dancing - but he hopes he might bag a studio date with Adele.
He told The Sun on Sunday: “I’d love to do a duet with Adele. There's not been a big double vocal song for so long.
"A deeply emotional ballad would be beautiful. I'm looking forward to collaborating with some British artists while I'm here."
Matt also has some advice for Adele - who is set to take to the stage in Las Vegas for a residency later this year, having cancelled and postponed abruptly at the start of the year.
Matt has enjoyed success in Sin City with his own residency tour and assures Skyfall singer Adele that she will be well looked after - but warns she might be shocked at how hard she will have to work while she’s there.
He said: "Around 40million people go through Las Vegas every year, but anything you know about the music industry doesn't really apply. It's its own universe.
"I have a lot of faith in Ceaser's Palace. That venue was my home for many years. They were family. You work with them, you never feel like you're working for them. I'm sure they'll look after Adele very well."
Adele enraged fans in January when she cancelled her much hyped ‘A Weekend With’ residency at the eleventh hour – and as some fans were mid-air crossing the Atlantic after spending thousands on flights, hotels and tickets.
At first, Covid was blamed for the sudden need to cancel the shows – but eventually a different story emerged suggesting Adele got stroppy over the planned staging of the show.
According to reports at the time, she was meant to stand in the centre of a pool during her performance but thought the final design looked more like an 'old pond' and ended up allegedly 'refusing to take part'.
An insider claimed: "Adele described the pool as a ‘baggy old pond’ and refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it.
"The intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water.”
The shows are now expected to go ahead from November.
