Strictly Come Dancing's Kym Marsh shares 'real' reaction to result with after fan anger

Kym Marsh has given a clear indication of how the Strictly Come Dancing cast reacted to Hamza and Jowita's win on Saturday night, claiming there 'wasn't a dry eye in the house' as some viewers took aim at the result and accused pro Gorka Marquez of being 'a sore loser.'

The culmination of 13 weeks of ballroom competition, this year's Strictly final pulled in a huge audience to BBC One at the weekend as eventual champions Hamza and Jowita, battled it out with Helen and Gorka, Fleur and Vito and Molly and Carlos for the coveted Glitterball trophy. After each of the remaining four couples performed three routines, including their highly anticipated Show Dance, Hamza and Jowita were actually at the foot of the leaderboard, with the lowest combined total from the judges' scores.

However, while they were at the bottom of the standings, Hamza and Jowita weren't at any disadvantage as the final result was determined solely on the public vote and it was them who were called as winners at the end of Saturday's live broadcast. Streamers and confetti filled the air as they were announced as 2002 champions, as viewers watching at home were quick to point out the disappointment etched all over Gorka's face.

Hamza and Jowita, having long been favourites with the bookies to win, were the odds on tip to triumph on Saturday, but many viewers said that both Helen and Gorka and Fleur and Vito, who were the night's top scorers, were 'robbed' of victory.

However, while there was some bad feeling on Twitter as opposing opinions were thrown by viewers, Kym has hinted that everyone was delighted for Hamza and Jowita, as she spoke about the final on Monday's Morning Live. Sharing what things were like behind the scenes, the former Hear'Say star said: "You know it was such a tense moment for them waiting to find out who the winner was, but it was incredible, just incredible.'

"There was not a dry eye in the house. It was fabulous."
