Kai Widdrington has branded Helen Skelton a 'superstar,' in an emotional response to their overall win on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.
After making it all the way to the final of the BBC show alongside Gorka Marquez in December, Blue Peter and On The Farm presenter Helen was dealt a blow when Gorka turned down the opportunity to join her on the tour, which kicked off in Birmingham in the middle of last month.
It was confirmed towards the end of last year that Kai, right before he won the Christmas special, would be stepping into partner Helen. And, whiles Strictly fans were understandably gutted by Gorka'a absence, they have clearly taken to Helen and Kai's double act very well as they notched up the most wins on tour, having won the audience vote an impressive 13 times over the course of the nationwide jaunt.
Helen and Kai were declared champions of the Strictly tour after final night in Glasgow on Sunday, being handed two huge Glitterball trophies to mark their triumph. Kai shared a photo of him and a delighted Helen holding their silverware aloft on Instagram, along with shots of them in costume for various routines, including the already iconic Couples' Choice to Main Herr, which was dubbed her 'revenge' dance when she originally performed it in the Strictly ballroom.

Kai also used the post to pay a heartfelt tribute to Helen, who was still reeling from her marriage split when she signed up for Strictly, with her ;'inspirational' bounce back earning her plenty of admiration from viewers.
Heaping praise on Helen, the world champion dancer wrote: "you’re a super star and it’s been my absolute pleasure to share the stage with you every single night ! Memories that will last a lifetime Thankyou"
Helen is one of the many people to have reacted to Kai's post so far, with her replying: "Oh what fun we had," with their Strictly tour co-star Carlos Gu, writing: "You guys have been amazing , adore you!"
Arguing Helen should also have lifted the actual Strictly Glitterball a few months ago, one of Kai's followers commented: "Well deserved Helen was robbed on the main strictly show."
