Gorka Marquez has argued that Helen Skelton should have received some 'higher' marks on Strictly Come Dancing so far, as he continues to try and boost his celebrity partner's confidence.
Countryfile star Helen, despite not being near the top of the leaderboard yet, is still a frontrunner to win Strictly this year, in the eyes of both bookies and viewers, but she has been plagued by a distinct lack of self-belief, something the judges and Gorka himself have addressed and urged her to overcome.
This week Gorka and Helen will throw things back to her TV big break, when they dance a Charleston to the theme tune to Blue Peter, the show Helen was a presenter on for a number of years. Appearing as a guest on Friday's Lorraine, Helen said her knees were "bruised to high heaven, " from rehearsing the different tricks and lifts for Saturday's routine.

She was then joined by Gorka to appear on The One Show just a few hours later and it was when quizzed by hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating on their time on Strictly so far and how he thought Helen was doing, that Gorka questioned some of the scoring.
Alex talked about Gorka's very public show of support for Helen during last Saturday's Strictly live show, before asking him what the last few weeks had been like from 'his perspective.' He replied: "I mean, obviously we're having a good time; we're enjoying the rehearsals. In my opinion I think she did brilliantly and I share your opinion too and I think she is so good and could maybe have higher scores, but again it's the judges' opinions and we take them on board and try and improve all the time."
He added: "She's doing very well and she's improving every week and that's what you want. You don't want someone to be very good in week one and then just drop."
