Strictly's Claudia Winkleman leads emotional tributes to Len Goodman

Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman has paid tribute to her former co-star Len Goodman who sadly died on Saturday.

The much-loved TV star was the face of Strictly from its launch in 2004 until he left in 2016. He was hugely popular with viewers for his sense of humour, and his sought after score of a "ten from Len".

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Claudia, 51, told her many followers how much love she had for Len.

She said: "A kind and brilliant man. Full of twinkle, warmth and wit. Sending so much love to his family and friends. We love you Len xx"

Other tributes have flooded in from a number of other famous faces. Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid, who also had a stint on Strictly, said: "What a gent - his attention to both the spirit and detail of ballroom dancing was legendary. But he also had a mischievous turn of phrase.

"After the Samba he told me 'you should be ashamed of yourself, a nice girl like you off breakfast TV. It was all bounce, bum and bongos!'

"He was old-school funny, charming, forthright and generous. Quite a combination. My love to his family, his friends and the broader Strictly family devastated by his loss."

Robert Rinder, who took part in Strictly back in 2016, said: "A rare gentleman: Kind, charming, exacting, encouraging & danced like a dream. .. Thank you for bringing so much joy. RIP Len Goodman.. It’s a 10 from us all."

Former BBC breakfast host Dan Walker said: "So sad to hear about the death of Len Goodman. He was an incredible man & an extraordinary talent.

"Loved making telly with him, being daft with him, playing golf with him & will never forget the little tips he would send every week on Strictly. All my love to his family."
