Strictly host says children see new role as a ‘great annoyance’

  • Comedian Ellie Taylor has been announced as the new host of the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two, following the departures of previous presenters Janette Manrara and Fleur East.
  • Taylor admitted her eight-year-old daughter and two-year-old son are unimpressed by her new role, viewing it as a great annoyance because it disrupts their bedtime routine.
  • Having competed as a contestant on Strictly in 2022 alongside Johannes Radebe, Taylor expressed her delight at landing her dream job and revealed she messaged Fleur East for support after securing the role.
  • Addressing recent shifts across both programmes, including the departures of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, Taylor reassured fans that the dancing will remain at the absolute centre of the series.
  • The revamped spin-off will introduce fresh updates while continuing to serve as a companion show that provides fans with deeper dives and behind-the-scenes insights into the main Saturday night production.
