Long-haired Strictly fave Hamza Yassin has been inundated with messages from fans begging for a date.
The dreadlocked Countryfile cameraman has become the surprise pin-up of this year’s series.
And he admitted being bombarded with saucy proposals from viewers.
Hamza, 32, said: “I have been getting loads of messages. Let’s just say I’m getting people declaring their love for me.”
The single star has ruled out any potential romance though – and says he finds the attention a bit overwhelming.
“It’s pretty weird as all you hear is, ‘We love you, Hamza!’ It’s kind of crazy,” he said.
“I think it’s amazing that people are supportive – it’s fantastic – but I’m not used to it.
“I’m usually filming somewhere remote.”
Hamza may think he is an unlikely sex symbol, but his luscious long locks and calm, unassuming manner has left Strictly viewers swooning.
He also proved he’s something of a muscle man when he lifted his pro dance partner Jowita Przystał, 28, above his head in an incredible salsa that scored him 39 out of 40.
Other contestants on this year’s show have praised Hamza for always offering a sympathetic ear when they are having a meltdown or crisis of confidence.
But the kind-hearted cameraman says he is normally happiest on his own.
“I don’t have the time [to date] and my life is not conducive to really having a relationship,” he said.
“I am just concentrating purely on the steps. I am actually dreaming about steps.”
To keep his focus on the dance competition, Hamza is having a social media detox – and letting Jowita look after his accounts.
The down-to-earth celeb said: “I tend to stay off social media because it can be quite a lot.
“I’m also not tech savvy. I don’t even know how to do an @ or a hashtag. Jowita is my social media manager.”
Hamza may be struggling with his newfound fame, but he is taking the Strictly workload in his stride.
Taking part in the show is notoriously hard work. But after being a cameraman in the wild – which often involves long waits to get the perfect shot – Hamza is used to long days.
“We are putting in a lot of time and effort and it’s exactly the same with wildlife,” he said.
“Most of the time it’s sunrise to sunset and, if you’re up near the poles at the right time of the year, it can be a long day.
“It’s the same with Strictly. We are here for nine hours a day.
“As soon as you come back, it’s sleep, eat, ice bath and back at it so it’s really similar but completely different.
“Most of the time, I’m by myself in the wild, but now I’m a part of this amazing Strictly family.”
Hamza says he would love to win the show and take home the Glitterball trophy. But his main aim is to use his Strictly profile to raise awareness about nature and the environment.
“I hope people see how important mother nature is and why we need to look after it,” he said.
“That’s my aim in life – to make this world a better place for us. I just hope I can inspire the next generation.”
