Strictly Come Prancing dance event to take place in Renfrewshire venue in aid of hospice

A major householder has announced a sponsorship of a glitzy Strictly Come Prancing event being hosted by a Renfrewshire hospice.

As part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, the staff and charities committee at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has announced that it is the main sponsor of this year’s Strictly Come Prancing event being held at Ingliston Country Club in Bishopton.

This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 16, from 7pm with all proceeds going to St Vincent’s Hospice in Howwood.

As well as main headline event sponsor, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland is also incredibly proud to sponsor its local sales manager Alison McPhee who has spent several months in training with her dance partner Gerry Kirwan, an employee at the hospice.

The pair will perform a Paso Doble - to Bad Guy by Billie Eilish - at the event, which hopes to raise thousands of pounds for the much-loved charity.

Director of fundraising and supporter relations, Gillian Green said: “We are absolutely delighted to have the support of Taylor Wimpey as our headline sponsor at this year’s Strictly Come Prancing.

"After a two-year hiatus we are excited to welcome our friends and supporters for a fun filled evening of glitter, sparkle, laughter and most of all fundraising.

"The work of the hospice is only possible through the kindness and support from partnerships like these.”

The hospice aims to provide access to the best possible care and support to everyone living with a life-limiting illness in Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire.

It has an eight bed Inpatient Unit with a multi-disciplinary team to offer the best care that it can; a Day Hospice Service providing support with symptom management, Community Nurse Specialists to provide care and support at home, and it provides a range of supportive services to patients and their families.

David Blair, managing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We have been supporting the hospice for many years now, and we are delighted sponsor this popular fundraising event that is making a comeback to raise vital funds to allow the hospice to carry on the vital work they do.

“We’re also especially proud of our own member of staff Alison who has battled injury to make sure that she’s ready for her sparkling moment on the dancefloor for a local charity that is very close to our hearts.

"Being able to work with local groups and charities is important to us - even more so in these unprecedented times.”

There are a limited number of tables and tickets still available for this event – contact Lesley via: events@svh.co.uk or call 01505 705 635 ext 403 to find out more.
