Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford denies rumours of backstage romances and feuds

Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford has denied rumours of any behind the scenes romances and feuds going on with the contestants and pro dancers.

The BBC ballroom dancing show is known for its 'Strictly curse', which has plagued many seemingly strong couples over the years, as well as sparking new relationships which have blossomed from the show.

It's been recently reported that CBBC star Molly, who is partnered with Carlos Gu on the show, was romantically linked with pro Nikita Kuzmin, who is currently paired with Olympian Ellie Simmonds.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Thursday morning, Molly was grilled by hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins who wanted all the behind-the-scenes gossip. When asked about drama, she said: "You know what, it is such a tight-knit group. Everyone is so close, we have Friday night takeaway, we're all chatting and the pros are so lovely. Even the new guys, everyone is amazing."

When asked again about any issues behind the scenes, she insisted: "No, no. There actually isn't. I think that will come later on in the competition."

Charlotte then quizzed Molly if she or anyone else had become embroiled in a Strictly romance, to which Molly replied: "No, no I mean..." As she continued to change the topic, her professional dance partner Carlos quickly interrupted to end the conversation, saying: "I think it's too early to talk about this."

Molly and Carlos appeared on GMB (ITV)

It comes after Molly and Nikita were said to have been looking very cosy at the National Television Awards earlier this month. Onlookers apparently saw the pair enjoying each other's company, following Nikita's split from his girlfriend of five years Nicole Wirt.

A partygoer apparently told the Mail : "Molly and Nikita couldn't keep their eyes off each other the entire evening. They didn't mind who could see them flirting and chatting away – and Molly had a huge smile on her face.

"The chemistry between them was clear and they even waited until they had both safely got into taxis at the end of the night – but it appeared that they were making arrangements to continue the after party just the two of them."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
