Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton posted on Instagram in tears following the aftermath of this weekend's results show despite making it through to the next round of the dancing competition.
The ex-Blue Peter presenter has had an emotional time while on the hit TV show in which she fled rehearsals through a fire exit just minutes before the first live show after suffering from nerves. She made a tearful return to the show after being encouraged by professional dancer Gorka.
Gorka and the judges encouraged Helen to have more confidence in herself and her dancing abilities since she returned. Gorka spoke out during the live show on Saturday, October 15 to tell Helen that she was 'amazing' and she needed to believe that. The live show took place just days after her ex-husband Richie Myler announced he was expecting a baby with his new girlfriend reports the Chronicle Live.
Helen and Gorka had quite a night in the ballroom for the Strictly BBC 100th Birthday special, as the 39-year-old went back to her TV roots, by dancing a Charleston to the Blue Peter theme. Helen looked like she was having a ball on the dancefloor and her enthusiasm was rewarded, as she and Gorka finished joint top of the leader board, with a series-high score of 35 out of 40.

Having been favourite to win before week one, Helen is still very much in the mix in the eyes of bookies, when it comes to Strictly 2022 champion and her and Gorka are now through to Halloween Week, having yet to fall into the bottom two. Someone who did fall into the danger zone for the first time this weekend was Jayde Adams and, after having to compete in the dance-off with Molly Rainford, the comedian and pro partner Karen Hauer were eliminated by all four judges.
Having forged a close friendship with Jayde over the last few months, Helen was gutted by the Strictly result and took to her Instagram story on Sunday night in tears. Standing next to Gorka, Helen said: "I'm really happy that we're through and thank you so much for being kind to us. But, I'm crying because Jayde and Karen are our girls, they're our fam, so I'm very sad."
Turning to Gorka, she quipped: "So we have to be very good now right?" as he replied: "Just want to thank everybody for your love and support and we're just going to be doing our best."
Jayde shone the spotlight on the close bond between her and Helen at the start of last week. Posting a photo of the pair having a meal out, Jayde wrote: "Two strong confident independent women, eating roast dinners after a big weekend. @helenskelton"
