Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly steps in as she spots Tyler West's remark after exit

Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly stepped in to offer a message of support after Tyler West's exit.

The 53-year-old broadcaster fronted Sunday night's elimination episode alongside Claudia Winkleman. Tyler has been partnered with Dianne Buswell in the latest season of the popular BBC programme.

The pair found themselves in the bottom two and were in the dance off against Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu. Tyler and Dianne performed the salsa to a KC & The Sunshine Band Megamix as they battled to remain in the competition.

However, Tyler's bid to win the Glitterball came to an end as only Anton du Beke voted for him to stay in the show. Dianne was visibly upset after their exit was confirmed which sparked Tyler to issue an apology.

He said: "I'm so sorry." However, Tess wanted to offer words of support after she noticed the pair's reactions.

She said: "I can see you're upset Dianne and understandably so. I saw you saying sorry but you don't have to say sorry you have been absolutely fantastic."

Viewers following the show on Twitter were in agreement as they were devastated after Tyler's exit was confirmed.

Bev said: "Shocked Tyler is leaving!"

Anthony added: "That was the most outrageous decision in the history of the competition! Tyler was so much better than Molly!!!!

Jessica tweeted: "I'm gutted Tyler is leaving! He didn't deserve to go!"

Geraldine commented: "Gutted for Dianne and Tyler!!!"
