Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas debuts new look after 'sad' news

Strictly Come Dancing legend Shirley Ballas debuted a fresh new look for her fans.

The ballroom star ditched her long locks for a stylish, cropped alternative. Shirley appeared thrilled with the results as she sipped on a cocktail while snapping a photo of her new hairstyle.

Sharing the makeover on Twitter, she said: "First time to try a coffee martini. I rather liked it. Thoughts?"

Most of her following seemed to love the new hair-do as they were to offer her compliments. One fan said: "I don’t do coffee but loving the hair." A second added: "Love your hair, Shirley. It really suits you xx"

A third said: "Go with an espresso martini instead - it should not be creamy like that :) Your hair looks ah.may.zing!" A fourth added: "What a lovely photo Shirley! You look beautiful."

The dramatic aesthetic shift comes shortly after she admitted she was upset about her son's career move. Mark, 36, revealed he would be retiring as a professional from Strictly's American counterpart, Dancing With The Stars, Devon Live reported.

Shirley took to Instagram to declare she was "sad but excited". She said: "Although I'm sad to see my son retire from @dancingwiththestars I'm excited to see the next chapter of his life. Hang on to your hat and buckle up as it will be quite the ride.

"I'm happy I was there in Vegas to see the last dance with @charlidamelio. What a team. Love you Mark. Your heart shines so very brightly. Xxx @markballas".
