Strictly Come Dancing's Judi Love horrifies fans with body odour removal tip

Strictly Come Dancing star Judi Love shared a strange tip to keep yourself from smelling during the heatwave.

The Loose Women panellist appeared on Good Morning Britain and talked about how she tackled body odour during the extreme weather the UK is going through.

Judi, who was on the 2021 series of Strictly, was talking to Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls about her new show Work in Progress when the conversation turned to the sweltering sun.

Her ultimate hack involves not only deodorant but also sweet potato.

"Now most people have a croissant for breakfast, but you appear to have brought a bowl full of sweet potato and some deodorant?" Ranvir asked Judi.

Judi said: "For those who are going out into the sun, please wear your deodorant because it’s hard for us, especially when we’re in close proximity with each other.

"And this sweet potato, you can boil it, make it cool and put it under your armpit if you’ve got an odour issue."

Ranvir was shocked while Ed asked her if the potato has been 'under your armpits yet'.

Judi answered: "No! You have to boil it, mash it, let it cool a little bit, just put it under your armpit and let it draw out the stench!"

According to Judi, placing the sweet potato under your armpit is an 'old school method'.

"All I'm saying is, it's hot today, put something under your armpits okay!" she added.

Fans were confused by the Loose Women presenter's unconventional tip and took to Twitter to question it.

"#GMB did Judi Love just recommend putting mashed sweet potato under your arm pits to help with body odour???" one concerned user asked.

"What ????? Don’t forget to put sweet spuds under your armpits…" another wrote.

Britain has endured the hottest day on record as temperatures reached 40C just before 1pm today.

The temperature was so high that several fire services declared major incidents after a couple of fires broke out.

People were advised to avoid exercising in the hottest parts of the day, to drink lots of water, and to close curtains in rooms that face the sun.

Some people even went to the lengths of placing their duvets and pillows in the freezer for a short time to keep cool.
