Strictly Come Dancing's BBC launch hangs in the balance after the Queen's death

The launch of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing series has been thrown into question following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The UK has entered a national period of mourning stretching over 17 days, after the monarch’s death at the age of 96 on Thursday.

As tributes continue to pour in following the news, the BBC released its Friday schedule for BBC One and BBC Two, in which the flagship channel has cleared its regular programming to follow back-to-back news coverage.
