Strictly Come Dancing faces major format change as bosses rage at constant leaks

Fed-up Strictly Come Dancing bosses are considering a huge format change as exit leaks continue to infuriate fans and BBC execs.

Matt Goss became the third celebrity to leave the show last night, breaking down in tears as he was eliminated.

But plenty of people knew he got the boot long before viewers watched the announcement.

Strictly airs all of its Saturday shows live, but most of their Sunday programmes are recorded immediately after.

As a result, the name of the celebrity who exits is often leaked online - and for many it has become very difficult to avoid social media spoilers.

There is no way of knowing where they come from with hundreds of people sat in live audience, even though they have their phones removed as they enter.

The filming format has been in place since the late Bruce Forsyth struggled to host two nights in a row.

But pressure is now being put on the BBC to return to filming two shows throughout the series to stop the spoilers, it has been claimed.

A source told The Sun: "Those running the show want to find out who is leaking and fast. What’s really baffling them is that it must be the same person."

The BBC say they had no comment to make when approached by Mirror Online.

Strictly aired the latest exit of the series last night, as singer Matt became the next to go.

Matt had found himself at the bottom of the judges' leaderboard on Saturday night, and his performance was praised slightly, but also met with critique.

Now the BBC are coming under growing pressure to go back to two live weekend shows from the start (BBC)

Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh was forced to dance again with her pro partner Graziano Di Prima, while Matt and dance partner Nadiya Bychkova had to do the same.

When asked by Tess Daly about his time on the show, Matt said: “It’s an extraordinary experience, I have been in America for 25 years.

"Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways. This lovely lady beside me, a world champion with all the patience. I am very honoured."

Nadiya then offered words for her partner, saying: “First I’m so grateful that I got to teach and dance with a music icon. But, more important than this, I got the privilege to get to know Matt, for who you really are.

"Not many people know you and you’re a beautiful soul, very kind human and a real gentleman.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6:40pm for its BBC 100 Special on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the result at 6:45pm on Sunday.
