Streatham home with room where Sir Henry Tate first displayed his famous art collection for sale for £1.5m

The room where Sir Henry Tate once housed the collection that would become Tate Britain is on the market in a five-bedroom home that makes up part of Tate’s original estate.

The Victorian industrialist and sugar magnate behind Tate & Lyle (then Henry Tate & Sons) lived at the original Park Hill House in Streatham from 1874 until his death in 1899.
