Netflix have revealed that a 'horrifying supernatural threat' will be at the centre of Stranger Things Season 4.
The streaming service teased fans on Wednesday by releasing several first look images of the upcoming series.
One picture shows Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) at the forefront as she's surrounded by her pals Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), his older brother Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), Mike Wheeler and newcomer Argyle (Eduardo Franco).
Eleven doesn't look happy in the shot, and is no doubt forced to use her powers again in order to protect her friends.
Another image features Lucas Sinclair and his younger sister Erica as they sit either side of Dustin in his bedroom.
In another shot they are joined by Max Mayfield as they appear to be trying to club somewhere using bedsheets tied together.
A synopsis for Stranger Things Season 4 reads: "It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins.
"Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier.
"In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down."
The latest images comes after various members of the cast shared several posters for the show via Instagram.
A teaser trailer released last year revealed that some of the fourth season would be set in California as Eleven is going to school there.
The clip, which Eleven narrates through a chirpy letter she is writing to her close pal Mike, shows the telekinetic teen struggling to fit in at school, and processing the gory end of Hopper using a scene of their cursed cottage made from a shoebox.
She is spat at and ignored, but she seems oblivious to it - all she can think of is seeing Mike, her first ever friend and love interest.
A hectic montage reveals glimpses of key moments from the show, including a roller derby, explosions in the desert, and mysterious men in suits appearing to manhandle Eleven.
Joyce Byers - played by Winona Ryder - is also seen receiving a Russian doll in the post, which could hint that the shady Soviets who wanted to capture the demogorgon in the previous series have unfinished business with Eleven…
Stranger Things 4, Volume 1 premieres on May 27 and Volume 2 premieres on July 1 on Netflix.
