A spectacular cast of famous faces and models were blown about during Hugo Boss’ fashion show last night in Miami, where high winds paired with a fountain-based set made for a very blustery event.
Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Candice Swanepoel and DJ Khaled walked the runway, which was lined by a series of cascading water fountains and located next to a dark moat of water.
Those walking the show initially put up a stoney-faced fight against the gale force winds, standing up straight and storming on against the gusts. Unfortunately the breeze only picked up speed, and at certain points models had to shield their faces from the wind interacting with the nearby fountains and showering them with water.
Model Amber Valletta paused halfway through the catwalk and hesitated as a huge wave of fountain water was blown in her path, with the model behind her having to encourage her onwards.
DJ Khaled actually escorted supermodel Naomi Campbell down the runway at one point, steadying her against the heavy winds while she threw her head back and laughed at the situation.
And Pamela Anderson, who was tasked with opening the show, walked the waterlogged runway with finesse, staring straight ahead and ignoring the elements as she strutted the catwalk in a sleek greige linen suit.
Stylist to the stars Law Roach also made his catwalk debut, some 36 hours after announcing his retirement from celebrity styling, leaving the world terrified over the fashion future of stars like Zendaya, Kerry Washington and Megan Thee Stallion, all of whom he dresses.
“I am excited and nervous,” he told Vogue backstage. “And deeply grateful. I’m grateful that the Boss team sees me as more than just someone who dresses all these amazing celebrities.”
Roach took inspiration from Campbell when the winds picked up speed, using her prowess to help steady himself. “I have so much more respect for the models: to be able to walk in these elements, in those puddles,” he said after the show ended, “In my mind I was saying, ‘Think Naomi. Think Naomi. Think Naomi!’”
Sitting in the slightly less hazardous front row was singer Demi Lovato, who was decked out in an all white custom BOSS look that billowed in the breeze (though, to be fair, everything billowed in that breeze).
Lovato was joined by fellow ex-Disney child star Bella Thorne, as well as Daisy Jones & The Six stars Camilla Morrone and Suki Waterhouse.
