Storm Idalia: One dead in Georgia as Florida reels from hurricane damage

One person was killed in Georgia as Hurricane Idalia hit the state as a tropical storm after wreaking havoc across Florida on Wednesday.

Idalia made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in Florida on Wednesday with top wind speeds of nearly 125mph, snapping trees and power lines, submerging houses and forcing residents in coastal areas to flee.
